I believe the driving force behind any of us is what we choose to delve into. Be it money, prestige, power, and so on what we are driven by is a goal in our lives that each of us decides early on to what
that force might be.
Animals are driven by instinct at saving a human life, hunting, or just being a lap dog. (lol) Needless to say we humans, as I have already stated have a force that guides our lifes. Now, we also might
be driven in many different areas and as we mature, hopefully, we each know what that force might
be that drives us on.
In my case I have more than one driving force and each is just as important as the other. My creative side follows crafts: crocheting, knitting, needlecrafts, rubberstamping just to name a few obessions
that steer my life. Its an outlet that I am quite sure my husband would wish that I didnt so obstinately
have as a force within me. He is known to say that I have bought and paid for several local craft stores such as Pat Cataans, Michaels to name 2 such places.
Then comes my obession or driving force of my love of computers. I am self-taught with but a few
college courses under my belt. There isnt a day goes by that I am not found behind the keyboard of
my laptop. Have even been known to sleep with it, I kid you not. Comuters are amazing, they are
a living entity as far as I can tell and I will given half the chance. How many of us can say that we
dont obsess over our laptops in one degree or another.? It gives us companionship, knowledge,
entertainment all in one fell swoop.
Now, I come to my one true driving force which is history. ahhh, to sit spellbound while reading a
great history on Alexander the Great, Hannibal, the horrors of Hitler or the naughty playing of
one monarch or another from England, France or maybe Spain with their strict Catholic beliefs to
their over zealous libido. There couldnt be any one of us who didnt read on Henry the VIII and
hope that one of the so-called queens didnt make it instead of losing her head...literally for the
lack of producing a son. Havent we all wondered how much different the world might have been
with the lack of a Elizabeth having been in power and wielding her power at unsuspecting a man
of that time.
Yes, I am driven by many a powerful obession, with its own place in my life as I go about each
day wondering what path I am going to take that day. This blog is tell a little of that powerful
urge of mine and I hope to hear from each of you too about your driving forces, hear about your
love of history or a art form you have lingering in and around you. Or maybe its your laptop that
leads the pack in your not at all boring life.
Come share your stories regale me with your tales of yore or your diamond in the rough story you
pecked out on some laptop not so long ago. I await your pleasures your desire in the written words.
So, pull up a chair set a spell and tell Father Paula what you have been hiding....lol.
